Aloe vera

Aloe vera, also known as aloe vera, is one of the best plants for treating burns, thanks to its excellent anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and healing properties. It is widely used for skin problems and is even recommended by many doctors today.

In addition, its application forms a kind of protective layer on the burn and, thanks to its antiseptic and bactericidal properties, it also helps us prevent any type of infection.

It is advisable to always have an aloe vera plant at home since, although aloe vera gels are marketed, the truth is that they contain many other ingredients and, therefore, they are not as effective.

Rosehip

Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids (omega 6, omega 3, linoleic acid), antioxidants and vitamins A, C and E. It is one of the most used in cosmetics for excessively dry skin, thanks to its high nutritional power and regenerating.

On the other hand, if the burn covers a lot of space or is in a highly visible area, its continued use improves the texture of the skin and increases elasticity, healing and even color.

This oil is marketed in herbalists and in natural cosmetic product stores. We must specify that it is always cold first extraction, which is the format that best maintains its medicinal properties.

Elaboration

To prepare these cubes of aloe and rosehip for burns we will need the following ingredients :

  • 20 ml of pure rosehip oil.
  • A leaf of aloe vera: We will make sure that it is really aloe vera, and not an aloe of another variety, since they do not have the same properties.

Steps to follow:

  1. We will peel the aloe vera leaf and put the gel in a bowl.
  2. We will add the oil and stir the mixture well.
  3. If we want it to have a more homogeneous texture, we can beat it, but this step is not essential.
  4. We will fill an ice bucket and place it in the freezer.

How we apply it

  1. The first step once we have suffered the burn will always be to put it under the cold water tap for a few minutes.
  2. When we notice that it softens, we will proceed to dry the skin and apply one of the cubes directly on the burn.
  3. We will wait a couple of minutes until the skin absorbs the remedy and dries.

We will apply it between three and five times a day until it is healed. Although it has thawed, we can continue to use it as an ointment.

After a few days we can continue to use only rosehip oil.

Warning

Although this remedy is very effective, we must always pay attention to the type of burn.

This aloe rosehip burn remedy is intended for minor burns only. If the burn affects a large part of the body or is very deep, you should see a doctor immediately for the appropriate treatment.
